Last Thursday, October 21, my good friend Milly Tucker went to be with her husband Floyd in the loving arms of our Saviour. She did it her way! She had all her children and grandchildren at her house Wednesday and shared her love and memories with them. When she told them goodbye, she knew she would see them next in heaven. She was a wonderful example for all of us. She was hard working. She was a loving friend to everyone. She loved the Lord and showed it in her everyday life. And when Milly "asked" you to do something, you were almost compelled to do it. She knew her time on earth was not long so she got everything she could in order...not to be a burden on anyone else. When I visited her on Tuesday, I was a bit taken back but honored with her request that Tom Charleston and I sing for her funeral. What could I say but YES. Milly had "asked" me! Tom and I were both honored to be able to do this small favor for her...we just didn't want to lose her so quickly.
In addition to raising five great kids, Milly was a mother figure to so many others. She had many, many children who received the best care and positive influence as she drove them to and from the New Palestine schools for 31 years. Most of us can only hope to be as influencial as she was in the lives of so many others.
My friend Milly has gone on to her reward. Let us always remember how blessed we are to have known Milly Tucker. May she rest in the peace of Christ and may we always remember her.

Health Updates
Dorothy Gunn has postponed her aneurysm surgery until November to give back a chance to heal more fully.
Rachael Rominger is doing well with her broken leg. She is now in a non-weight bearing boot for the next 4 weeks. She is keeping up with her studies at Depauw.
Justine's sister-in-law, Linda Mercer is scheduled for surgery in a couple weeks.
Duane and Janet Wilson's grandson Chris passed away this week.
All these folks need our support and prayer!
Rising Above Struggles
You can rise above each struggle
When you place your trust in him;
God sees the candle burning brightly
And also growing dim.
Yet, He has specific missions
For each of us to do,
And 'oft burdens will be many
Until our life on earth is through.
Everyday, our spirit is learning
Lessons we will need someday,
Virtues that are golden,
So we're not led astray.
Then when the Lord receives us
And our spirit yearns to soar,
Each struggle will be made clear to us
When we reach that golden shore.
